West Midlands Family cook
- This cooker is simple and easy to use, it has quite a spacious oven ideal for larger roasts etc.
The double oven comes in handy for extra cooking space or keeping things warm.
Initial purchase price is low compared to other models/brands.
- When the grill pan is on the highest level you cant actually see your food because of the metal trim inside obscuring your view, but when you lower it down your food is so far away from the element it takes much longer to cook.
The hob rings are slow to reach their maximum temperature, and once they are, compared to previous appliances I've used they are NOT as hot. It can only just about keep water at boiling point.
The Oven is the same, takes a long time to reach the desired temperature, and cooking times are longer due to the 10 degree tolerance allowed either side of your dials display.
The fan assisted oven, which is supposedly designed to keep an even cooking temperature throughout DOESNT, I get very noticeable hot spots inside the oven.
If you do a lot of baking - do not buy this oven! Cakes tend to be undercooked, unevenly cooked or dry because you have to leave them in the oven too long.
I believed my appliance to be faulty for the above reasons, so called in an engineer who told me that its not faulty, the manufacturers make appliances to be energy efficient, and as a result the output you get is lower than older models.
I'm not entirely sure if this is the case will ALL new cookers these days, but from experience of this particular one, I can honestly say its been my worst cooker to date.
