Using a rotating drum, your dryer will circulate hot air to gradually remove the moisture from the laundry. If your machine is a & Vented dryer: Hot air and water will be expelled via an externally vented hose. Condenser dryer: Hot air is condensed into water and will be collected in a tank, together with the water from your clothing, that will need to be emptied manually. Combination washer/dryer: Depending on whether it is vented or condenser machine the same process will apply. The exception is that the washer/dryer will need to be plumbed in to the cold water supply in either case.
