At Beko, all of our appliances are designed to make your life easier at home. They combine the latest innovative features and technology with reliable performance you can depend on every day.
We understand how frustrating it can be when essential household appliances stop working. No matter if that’s due to a fault or because they’re reaching the end of their lifespan. Plus, there’s the added worry of how much it might cost to repair or replace them.
To help, we’ve created this guide explaining what cover you can expect from your home contents insurance and Beko Appliance Care.
You will need to check the policy itself or consult with your cover provider to see what your home contents insurance covers.
Standard home contents insurance policies typically cover your appliances if they are damaged during an insured event. This may be due to a fire, storm, or flood. They could also provide cover against theft under the same terms.
It is with home appliance insurance where you can receive extra protection, covering appliances for breakdowns that aren't linked to a specific incident.
Sometimes referred to as white goods cover, specific home appliance insurance helps protect your appliances against unexpected breakdowns or accidental damage.
At Beko, we work with Domestic & General to provide our customers with an Appliance Care Policy. This extended warranty is designed to give you extra peace of mind once your manufacturer’s guarantee ends.
A Beko Appliance Care Policy provides continuous cover until stopped or cancelled. This includes access to qualified engineers, who will repair your appliance with no unexpected costs.
When an appliance is beyond repair, customers with this extended warranty will receive a brand-new model. You only pay the cost of installing the new appliance and the disposal of your old machine.
However, as with all insurance policies, there are some exclusions to be aware of. The Beko Appliance Care Policy does not cover:
It’s also important to note that many appliance insurance policies, including extended warranties, will not cover appliances once they reach a certain age. Typically, large home appliances have an expected lifespan of around 7 to 13 years, depending on the product type and usage. Appliances nearing the end of their natural lifespan may be more prone to faults.
A Beko Appliance Care Policy currently takes on cover for appliances in good working order which are up to 8 years old.
If you’ve recently purchased a new Beko appliance, remember to register your product within 90 days of purchase to activate your guarantee.
All our freestanding appliances come with a one-year parts and labour guarantee as standard. Our built-in appliances and American style fridge freezers are eligible for a free extension to a two-year labour guarantee when registered within 90 days.
In addition, all large appliances, excluding built-in microwaves and cooker hoods, are covered by our Beko 10-year parts guarantee, providing even greater long-term peace of mind.
Take out an Appliance Care Policy today and enjoy immediate cover for accidental damage. You’ll also be covered for breakdowns after the guarantee ends.
