How to clean the evaporator of your Beko Heat Pump Tumble Dryer

If you have a Beko Heat Pump tumble dryer, your evaporator should be checked and cleaned every six months to ensure drying performance is not reduced. Some models of Beko tumble dryer will have a warning symbol that appears on the digital display whenever this needs to happen. Here’s a step-by-step guide to clening the evaporator:

  1. The evaporator is housed behind the kick plate at the bottom of the machine.
  2. Press the kick plate button to open the kick plate.
  3. Remove the evaporator filter which is housed inside a drawer by twisting or unclipping as directed on the machine. The evaporator itself, sits behind the filter and you will able to see it when the filter has been removed.
  4. Use a soft-bristled brush to gently clean the fins of the evaporator by brushing them upwards and downwards.
  5. You can also clean the evaporator by hand provided that you wear protective gloves. Do not attempt to clean it with bare hands. Evaporator fins are sharp and can harm your hand.
  6. You can also use a vacuum cleaner in the same up and down motions to clean the evaporator, providing it is dry.
  7. Replace the filter drawer in front of the evaporator again and lock in place by turning the clips as directed on your machine.
  8. Close the kick plate cover.
