Do washing machines get damaged if kept in the bathroom?

Showers, sinks, and baths exude steam, moisture, and can lead to damp; potentially damaging your washing machine’s electrics. UK regulations permit the installation of a washing machine in a bathroom so long as stringent local authority regulations are adhered to. To comply with these protocols, the bathroom must be large enough to place the washing machine a minimum of 3m away from the nearest edge of the bath or shower. However, to get the most out of your appliance, Beko advises against installing your washing machine in your bathroom and encourages you instead to install your washing machine in a room with water access, evacuation inlets and outlets, and where it can receive power easily, without the presence of steam and damp.
