How does the auto defrost feature work in a fridge?

All our larder fridges defrost automatically. The defrosting process allows the water to run down the drain tube via a collection channel, this is then evaporated in a special container at the back of the appliance. Your fridge will carry out this cycle many times within a 24-hour period.
