How to clean your washing machine's pump filter

You should check the pump filter on your Beko washing machine about once every three months to make sure it isn’t blocked or stuck. Just follow these steps:

  1. Put down a towel or similar, to protect your flooring and have a container to hand to catch any water that leaks out when you remove the pump filter.
  2. The pump filter is housed behind a flap on the front of the machine.
  3. Open the flap and rotate the filter anti-clockwise until it can be easily removed.
  4. Some models have an emergency drain hose located next to the filter. Pull the drainage hose out from its seat and then pull out the stopper from the end of the hose and drain the water into a container. Then refit the stopper and place the drainage hose back into its seat before removing the filter.
  5. Be careful of any water that may also come out when you remove the filter.
  6. Check for any dirt, hair or small objects in the pump filter’s housing or on the filter itself.
  7. Remove any dirt or objects and then reinsert the filter before turning it clockwise.
